How to Use Shortcut Keys in Windows XP

Shortcut keys are used to do some tasks easily and faster than using proper method. These are the key combinations of some keys from keyboard. There can be used one, two or three keys simultaneously to do some important tasks of windows, in less time.

Following are the basic short-cut keys used in Windows XP.

Shift + (Up Arrow)Set selection (highlight) from current position to the next line up.
Shift + (Down Arrow)Set selection (highlight) from current position to the next line down.
Shift + (Right Arrow)Set selection (highlight) from current position to the right, one character at a time.
Shift + (Left Arrow)Set selection (highlight) from current position to the left, one character at a time.
Shift + EndSet selection (highlight) from current position to end of the line or page.
Shift + HomeSet selection (highlight) from current position to beginning of the line or page.
Shift + Delete (or Del)Permanently delete selected item(s) on Windows Explorer. (Selection will not go to Recycle bin)
Shift + InsSame as Ctrl + V means Paste.
Ctrl + EndJump to the end of the document or page.
